A little MAC haul

Over the past month I've had a bit of a makeup splurge. I definitely plan to remedy this with a bit of saving this month! However, I thought I'd do a little post on the MAC bits and pieces I picked up! Please let me know in the comments below if you'd like any more in depth reviews of any of these products. *Warning- this post is going to be a long one! I suggest grabbing a cup of tea and a digestive before settling down for this one.*

Item 1 -Satin Lipstick in 'Rebel'

I asked my MAC girl at my local counter- 'what lipstick would you say works well with my hair colour?' She picked up 'Rebel' almost instantly. Sometimes I think a fresh pair of eyes is good, as I often find myself picking up shades I already own or choosing the obvious brights like 'Ruby Woo' and 'Girl About Town.' 'Rebel' is a purple/red colour I wouldn't have chosen myself. Yet it works perfectly with my hair AND makes my teeth look white. Can you tell I'm more of a bright lippy gal than a nude lover?

Item 2- Lipglass in 'Oyster Girl'

I love this shade, its great for everyday wear and isn't sticky at all. Definitely making me love lipglosses more than before!

Item 3- Sheertone Shimmer Blush in 'Plum Foolery'

This wasn't actually a new purchase, it came from a blog sale. I think blog sales are a great way of getting products to try for a lot cheaper than the new price.Plus I find bloggers 100X more reliable than eBay sellers. This blush is great for nights out or for when I'm tanned as it is quite a shimmery, sparkly blush.

Item 4 -Lustre Eyeshadow in 'Idol Eyes'

This is probably the purchase I'm least happy with. It looks so promising in pan but the colour pay off is so poor! I find spraying my makeup brush before applying helps pick up more pigment but it still takes a second application to get the look I would like in one! However, it IS a pretty colour and a welcome addition to my collection.

Item 5- Tendertone in 'Tread Gently'

I tried, so hard, to resist the call of the Tendertones return. But alas, I failed. The fruity lipbalms had me reaching for my wallet happily. I chose 'Tready Gently' because it applies very sheer. I didn't want too much pigmentation as I enjoy using Tendertones over my lipsticks.

Item 6- MAC Fix +
Would you believe before this purchase I never set my makeup? I just felt that it was an unnecessary step in my day to day routine, and since I prime anyway -what was the difference? Well MAC Fix + is the difference. My makeup feels invincible with this bad boy and its also super for moistening brushes before use/ refreshing your face during hot days!

Swatch Time!
Have you made any sneaky MAC purchases recently?
