Let me see you dance, I love to see you dance

Today, regardless of the sun, I took two 'Winter' trends (tartan and beanies) and made them more Spring appropriate. A flash of leg, some white pedal pushers and low top converse add a lighter feel to the snuggly beanie and dark tartan print. Its not my fault, Coco made me do it- okay?
Tee: *Romwe
Jacket: (Vintage) Beyond Retro
Trousers: Vintage via Charity Shop
Shoes: Converse
Beanie: *PieBoy
I did it guys, I tried the 'slinging my jacket over my shoulders' look which fashionistas at fashion week and bloggers seem to favour. Did I do good? Am I officially a 'legit blogger' now? Here's to hoping. I also urge you all to check out PieBoy especially their university varsity beanies- I love them, and only wish they did one for the uni I go to (University of Sussex)!

I left my girl back home, I don't love her no more

After seeing Victoria's (or 'Inthefrow') post on wearing lingerie as outerwear, I decided to give it a shot. A few months ago, M&S had kindly sent me this body suit, its structured, slimming and the panels are layered underneath with a nude cotton, so its not revealing any skin- although it looks like it is! I love this body suit, it makes me feel so confident that I decided it would be the perfect partner in crime when it came to trying the lingerie as outwear trend.
Body: *M&S
Skirt: * She Inside
Vest: Vintage
Shoes: *Shoe Zone
Necklace: *Born Pretty Store
I love this outfit, its sexy, fun and en-capsules Spring- however I don't know if I'd be confident enough to wear it out. These photos were taken in the comfort of my back garden, but stepping out onto the streets in this is a bit of a stretch for me. Perhaps to a night club I'll give it a shot, under the cover of darkness and surrounded by scantily clad women- I'm sure I'd fit right in. As beautiful and elegant as this trend is, I just don't know if I have the body or the confidence for it! What do you think?

Red, White & Blue

Hi guys, you may remember this post, about a week or so ago, where I entered Trek America's #Blog4Trek competition. By some miracle, I made it to the top ten! I'm so excited and over the moon to be given this chance, as I've dreamed of visiting America for years. So, this brings me to stage two of #Blog4Trek. The top ten were given a photography challenge, take a photograph that somehow incorporates red, white and blue. Above is my photograph. It took me hours of battling with hellium balloons to get the perfect shot, and then a few more hours of editing to make it look as if the balloons are lifting me up!

To get to the next stage, I need you to help me out, as one of the spots in the final goes to the person with the most 'likes' on their photograph. If you like my photo, and want to help a gal out, please like it here. No sign up, no commitment, just a simple like on facebook. It would mean the world!

The Beauty Wishlist

(Clockwise from top left)
1. Tanya Burr's Lips- £6.99
2. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick- £8.99
3. Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Polishes- £6.49
4. Revlon Colorburst Laquer Balm- £7.99
5. Benefit's Big Easy Complexion Perfector- £27.50
This term is always the term I find myself with the least money- sorting out houses for next year, always choosing to bus to uni over cycling (its been rainy and cold....) and frisbee tournaments galore have sucked any excess funds clean out of me. So, instead of splurging, I have complied a pretty list of the gorgeous new makeup releases I'm DYING to get my mitts on. From Revlon's scented nail polishes, in bottles so cute they rival Ciate's bottles (and thats saying something)... to Benefit's new BB cream offering, I'm hooked on combing through review posts and videos, to see these products in action.

Perhaps the product I'm most eager to try is Tanya Burr's Lips and Nail's Lipglosses. Having loved Tanya for years (and being lucky enough to meet her at a Style Haul party and then again at Daily Mix) I'm keen to support her in her new endeavour. Who hasn't dreamed about having their own makeup line? I know I have, I even created a TAG about it on youtube, which you can do on your youtube channel, if you'd like!

I can't remember to forget you

The South has been absolutely GLORIOUS the past few days. The suns been shining, I've been getting my legs out and wandering along the sea front till the sun sets. I feel very lucky to live in Brighton when the weathers like this, and if you follow me on instagram, twitter or snapchat, you will have seen my incessant posting about the weather and photos of the pier/sea. I'm sorry not sorry, Brighton is so photogenic! So yesterday, I gathered my camera, tripod and sunglasses and headed down to the seafront to snap some photographs of this beautiful place and soak up some rays.
Shirt: H! By Henry Holland
Skirt: *Romwe
Boots: *OASAP
Sunglasses: EBay
I didn't want to add too many accessories to this outfit as the patterns of the shirt and skirt are bold in themselves, so I stuck to my everyday bracelets from pandora and let the clothes do the talking. I think they are saying 'HOLLA, it's Spring!'
Lastly, I thought I would include a few snaps I took from my 'photographer's ramble' day. What do you think? How are you enjoying the sun?

Music Covers

I don't always remember to put my youtube videos on my blog, but I wanted to share with you my three music covers I have done with my housemate, my Dad and my sister. I know how hard it can be to find royalty free music to use in youtube videos, so if any content creators wanted to use my covers, all I ask is that you link back to my channel and to the video like this:

'Music by TheCameraLiesBeauty
Channel: 'Link to channel'
Song: 'Link to video of song used''

I'd also like to mention that I upload videos on my youtube channel, twice a week. Once on Monday and then again on Thursday at 8.00am GMT. You can find my channel here, please subscribe and comment below if you'd like me to post blog posts containing my video, each time I upload? I don't know if this is helpful or annoying?

#Blog4Trek: 'What you would pack for a weekend away?'

Welcome to my submission for Trek America's #Blog4Trek competition. Some of my most popular posts, here on my blog are my more personal lifestyle and travel posts. (See herehere & here!) So, when I saw Trek America were looking for the next blogger to embark on their Westerner 2 trek and blog it, I jumped at the chance to enter. America is somewhere I've always wanted to explore and hearing many friends chatting about their 'gap yahs' I get quite wistful at the experiences I've missed out on, being someone who went straight from college to uni! The challenge: to blog what I would bring on a weekend away, with me! If you want to enter too, you can find out how to, here!
1. My HTC One Phone
I need my phone for weekends away- for emergencies, but also for instagramming (follow me here!) and other apps which are great for travel. My top travel apps are 'AroundMe,' a little guide to where the nearest cash point, restaurant, beach, hotel, taxi rank (and more) are, 'SkyScanner' your guide to the best flight deals, where ever you are heading to and 'TripIt' a pocket PA for all your travel needs.
2. GadgetinBox - PowerBank
My portable (pink!) charger. It provides an extra full batteries worth of juice for most smart phones, small cameras and mp3 players. This means I'll never be without instagram on my travels and with this in my bag, my phone can last a whole weekend without needing to be plugged into the mains.
3. Panasonic HJE120 Earphones
small, handy and easy to find in your bag (pink for the win) are just a few of the features that make these little earphones the perfect travel companion. Whether you're travelling by coach, train or plane (or just looking for a soundtrack to your sunbathing) these will be at hand to keep you entertained.
4. Canon IXUS 135
Document your travels in HD, be it picture form or vlog style. This slim, portable handheld camera also comes packed with features such as Wifi, meaning you can wirelessly upload your photos to your social media.
5. IPod Classic 160GB
To plug my earphones into! My Ipod has 160GB of space for all my tunes, which means a playlist for travelling, another for sunbathing, one for getting ready to go out for dinner.... It'll keep me entertained where ever I am, however bad the traffic is.
Sunglasses are essential. I'm hoping for sun on a weekend away, which means I'm going to need these bad boys (purchased from eBay). Glasses with a good UV protection are important- even if you're going to a colder climate, got to protect those peepers! These are also interesting and stylish with a mock baroque parda style.
I don't want to worry too much about makeup whilst I'm on a weekend away- I want to be out exploring wherever I am and soaking up the culture. However, I'm not giving up the beauty completely, say hello to my five product face:
1. Topshop Lip Bullet in Covet
This is nice and easy to apply and the pretty pink shade can be worn at night or during the day. Its quite a moisturising lip product and the packaging is sturdy enough that you can sling it in a bag and not worry about it being smeared over the contents of your rucksack....!
2. Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream
Moisturising with a nice level of coverage for a BB cream, Maybelline's Dream Pure is my first stop for covering any redness (especially if you get sunburnt..!) and smoothing over those pores. Its also got SPF 15 in it to protect your skin. It can be applied easily with fingers, meaning I don't need to pack a brush- win.
3. Essence Get Big! Lashes Waterproof
Waterproof mascara means if I'm in a hot climate or decide to go swimming, I don't need to worry about mascara smudges. This mascara adds volume and is long lasting, so I won't need to be reapplying throughout the day. I've got bigger fish to fry!
4. MaxFactor Miracle Creamy Blush
Another product which can be applied with fingers, and will be great for adding a little somthin' somthin' for the evenings, where ever I am eating. Cream blushes tend to last longer than powder blushes and this tiny pot is very portable.
5. Benefit Fake Up Concealer
How am I going to woo a sexy local if I've got a giant spot, or huge under eye bags?! Benefit Fake Up is my one stop shop for concealing any 'less than desirable' blemishes.

Benefit Gimme Brow Review

Blogger mail from benefit popped through my letter box last week and I was super excited when I unwrapped 'Gimme Brow,' Benefits new 'it kid' on the brow block. Costing £17.50 the product is a brush on fibre gel which you can use to shape, thicken and set your brows. It comes in two shades: Light/Medium and Medium/Dark- both of which I was kindly sent. For me, the Medium/Dark suits my brows better than the light gel.
I found Gimme Brow extremely easy to use. The tapered brush is absolutely tiny, meaning you can be really precise with it. Having never used a brow gel before, I was sceptic, but the gel looks far more natural than I imagined and you can control how much product you want to use, as it is build-able. This means you can continue applying product until you have Cara brows, or stop after one application if you are more of a fan of a lighter brow look.

I found the gel long wearing- it lasted for a long day of filming youtube videos under hot lights, and water resistant when I splashed my face with water. I would definitely say 'Gimme Brow' is worth the money, and I will repurchase it when it runs out. My only gripe is the limited colour range- but this can be solved by mixing together the two shades to get your perfect shade. Congratulations Benefit on another truly innovative product!

You throw your head laughing, like a little kid

The daffodils are blooming and today I was able to leave the house in a denim jacket and a denim jacket alone. Goodbye dark clothes, burgundy nail polish and berry lips and hello pastels, floaty skirts and sandals- WOHOO! Being born in July, I'm far more of a Summer baby than a Winter lover. I need me some sun and short, shorts. Here's to my first Spring-esque outfit of 2014.
Cami: Primark
Skirt: River Island
Shoes: *ShuBox
Necklace: *JellyButtonJewellery
Jacket: Zara
Bag: *IKrush
This bag is my new obsession- it looks so like the coveted Mulberry Willow Tote, except this one is on £15! Its nice and spacious with a pretty leopard print lining and loads of pockets. IKrush are also giving my readers 15% off IKrush if you'd like to order yourselves one of these bags! Just type in CAMERA15 at the check out to get 15% off the entire range. The code will be live until 30th April 2014.

The Fairytale TAG

Snow White
My photograph, click to see my flickr
I saw this TAG on the lovely Jennie's blog 'Sailor Jennie' and I just had to do it, myself. I love fairytales and haven't done a tag or more personal blog post on my blog in a while. What better way to ring in a new month?

Snow White - Do you consider yourself beautiful?
No. I don't mind the way I look, but I am by no means beautiful. That is okay though, beauty comes from within.

Sleeping Beauty - How many hours do you sleep at night?
It depends, as a student I have an irregular time table which means I can nap during the day! But at night, perhaps 6ish?

Cinderella - Do you have a curfew?
Nope, I'm 19 and I live on my own. This means sometimes I'll go to bed at 6pm (yep, that has really happened) or stay up till 4am...

Rapunzel - Do you love being outside?
Yes! Playing Ultimate Frisbee, taking photographs or going for a run!

Red Riding Hood - Do you trust strangers easily?
No, I don't trust anyone easily! I've had my trust broken a few too many times to ever trust someone completely.

The Wolf and the Seven Young Kids - Are you easily fooled?
I wouldn't say so, I'm not especially gullible.

Beauty and the Beast - What makes someone beautiful in your eyes?
loyalty and honesty are such beautiful traits and also rare, in my experience.

The Little Mermaid - What would you sacrifice for love?
Love often means sacrifice and compromise but if I love someone I'm very loyal to them and will sacrifice a lot for them.

The Frog Prince - What do you find disgusting?
Feet, bad manners and body odour. I'm completely intolerant of bad smells and I get grossed out by feet pretty easily. I also hate bad manners (so British) and I have trypophobia (although thats probably caused by the internet!)

Jack and the Beanstalk - Do you have any plants?
Yes! My ex boyfriend bought me a plant as a housewarming gift when I started university a year and a half ago. I try to look after him, but he always looks much healthier when I take him home at the holidays and my Mum looks after him... hm...

Puss in Boots - Do you have pets? If not, do you want them?
I have a cat called Kiki Dee! She is my family cat and lives with my parents. When I graduate I want to get as many cats as I can fit in my house.

Bluebeard - What is your weak point?
I procrastinate like mad and if I'm having a bad day it gets worse! I'll leave all my reading till tomorrow because I'm sad or just because I had a stressful seminar... Not helpful OR logical.

Pinocchio - What is your biggest wish?
To be happy and content and for the people I love to be the same.

Peter Pan - What is your mental age?
About 15. I still giggle at innuendos, fan girl over Fall Out Boy and over react to the tiniest of things (and don't know my alcohol limits...)- I never left high school!

The Star Money - What is your most valuable possession?
My Antique Cameo ring. Its gorgeous and rose gold, but also invaluable for sentimental reasons as its a family heirloom.

Gold Mary & Pitch Mary - Are you a hard worker or a lazy one?
When I really love something- such as blogging and youtubing, I'll put all my efforts into it and can become quite a perfectionist. However, if I get even a little bit disillusioned with something I can become quite lazy. Guilty!

The Snow Queen - Who is your best friend? What would you do for them?

I have a few best friends, namely Steph, Rosie and Hayley who have all been very important in my life and I would do anything for them.

The Princess and the Pea - Are you sensitive?
Yep! Books, films, pictures of cute cats, sloth videos..... I'll cry at it all.

Godfather Death - What qualities make a good parent?
I look to my own parents for my answer to this question- they are amazing. They are unfathomably loyal and will go any distance for my sister and I.

The Twelve Dancing Princesses / The Worn-Out Dancing Shoes - Do you like parties?
Hells yeah! I love nothing more than singing and dancing and having a good time with friends.

The Emperor's New Clothes - Do you care a lot about your clothing?
I love fashion, but I don't care about it in that I won't go out in sweatpants (oh, I will), but I see fashion as art and my body as a canvas.

The Brave Little Tailor - Do you consider yourself brave?

In some aspects. I'm not scared of heights, roller coasters, public speaking or other things which set people on edge (I'm a bit of a thrill seeker) but the thought of facing the world without my ex boyfriend/bestfriend after we broke up TERRIFIED me.

I TAG: Meg from Wonderful You, Sophia from Tattooed Tea Lady, Rose from a Rosie Tinted Life and Bee from Viva Tramp!
